Caster...was never the best at typing, and it always got worse when she was distressed about something. She wasn't even sure what she was hoping to gain by texting Morgan in the middle of the night.

Of course, she wanted to warn him incase he tried to go befriending Yuber or talk him down from violence- but as probably the only one here who knew her history of being controlled against her will, perhaps she wanted him to hear her out.]

Bargaining's a rough one. What's the biggest deal you've made? The trick's in very careful wording.

No one's lost anything. Matter, energy, magic cannot be destroyed or created. It's your same energy, just being translated into this world's magic.

Think of it like if you brought a squirt bottle into an Arctic storm. Most people need water to live. The water's still inside your bottle, yeah, and you might get a squirt out but the particles will freeze on contact with the air, and the water inside the bottle will be a solid block in a matter of minutes. The water's still there, you just can't use it the same way you normally would-- you've got ice now. Soon as you go back where you came from, it'll melt again to water, but while you're here, you've got to figure out how to live with the ice.

I get your analogy, but I'm having trouble applying it. Say a werewolf comes here. There's a genetic and spiritual component to that. But here, they can't shift, they can't step sideways, they can't do anything a normal human can do. That doesn't feel like 'translation'. It's a change of identity. And my magick-with-a-k is literal reality changing, not energy, so...

What it sounds like is less like we're being 'translated' and more like we're being... filtered? Like our true natures are inside black boxes, translating input and output in ways we can't see. I'm struggling to describe this, but what's the difference between 'we've been fundamentally changed' and 'we haven't been fundamentally changed but we might as well have been for all intents and purposes'?

how about this: it's like if I try to move my arm, nothing happens, but if I think about the color blue and the letter 2, a robot limb on my back starts waving? That feels WAY different.

Well that's not true at all. Who you are is a culmination of experiences. It's your soul, your mind, your personality. You don't stop being you if you astral project, if you die and become a spirit, if you wind up body swapping or losing a limb. You're still who you are, just with a different set of challenges.

Also I'm gonna be real with you and it's not gonna make me popular, but I've no idea what you're saying about colors and robot limbs. You're in someone else's world, write a journal about it to express yourself if you're upset but I don't know what you want me to say besides you're overthinking it. Sometimes the world is the way it is, you don't have to like it.

[One of the best uses for moving through shadows, as Medea discovered, was to slip out the shadow, sneak presents (wrapped in a cloth gift bag far more suited to Halloween) on the doorstep and knock- then slip back into the darkness again before the people could catch her. Just evil witch things.

Morgan'll get a portable little bottle of a shimmery, sliver potion that is cool to the touch. It's labelled 'Antécho (Endure)'- one to keep him protected from fire. She'd also slipped a new guitar strap into the package, one it looked like she'd taken the time to decorate herself.]
