[Whilst Caster seemed intrigued by the prospect, the little dragon stared up at Morgan's finger like it was a challenge, wriggling itself ready to pounce!
Judging from the way it was wagging it's tail though, it did seem to be having fun.]
[No chance to pounce -- because Morgan withdraws that hand to plunge it into his coat. A deep reach into an inner pocket later, and he produces...]
Behold! Typon, the Slayer of Fingers, the Ever-Watching, the Bitey!
[Nine hydra heads raise on nine hydra necks from one tiny hydra body. Three of them regard Caster, curiously; two of them eye the dragon instead. One of them is attempting to steal the sandwich in Morgan's other hand. Two of them are furiously wrangling a scrap of cloth, striving for dominance. The last one is asleep.]
[Morgan's eyes go wide for a second, before he squeezes them shut. All his effort and energy are now going to stop him from giggling furiously over how absolutely adorable Caster is.]
[Typhon, meanwhile, turns three of his head to look at the little dragon in a weird triangle pattern. The two tussling heads have now both grabbed Morgan's thumb and are trying to pull it in opposite directions. It doesn't really hurt at all.]
Caster, you are totally adorable. I'm sorry, I can't help it. I don't make the rules. [He shrugs, totally willing to pretend he's completely helpless in the face of such overwhelming obviousness.]
You know, I think you and I have a similar thing going on, actually. And you're gonna hate me for what that implies.
[Does Morgan do that too? Well, look at what came out of him when she'd been looking to take a life. Despite everything, Morgan runs far, far deeper mentally and philosophically than he shows.]
[Deep enough that his convictions could quote literally change reality. That's how Magick-with-a-k works, after all. He might not be able to do it here, but that didn't make him any less of a strong (stubborn) personality.]
You just have a lot more trouble letting go of that show.
[He holds up a hand quickly.] No, no! Not a pretense. A show. Yes, absolutely a part of you is that sorceress who has committed acts of wrath and revenge, a dark and terrible presence to be feared. But that's not all there is to you at all. You put it out there front and center with the way you talk and act and dress, and try to keep the rest hidden. The part that's decent, and kind, and makes sandwiches for a friend, and gets flustered or nervous... You don't want people to see that, not at first, anyway.
Because it's not who you are. That much is obvious. [As far as Caster's concerned, anyway. He's had thoughts about that sort of thing before, though his ultimate answer is pretty obvious, right?]
Me? No one needs to hear the huge ramblings about the perfection of self, moving in flow with the universe, right thoughts and deeds, mindfulness, any of that. Me, I'm an iceberg. The part up top is all anyone really NEEDS to know or deal with. Nothing's stopping then from ducking down to explore the rest, but that's an extra trip out of their way.
