[ She smiles her agreement, but turns her attention back to her ice cream for the moment. That wouldn't hurt so much out of context. ]

[It's the truth, even if it gets into her own problems. Steph has something to prove, he knows.]

Hmm, and I imagine a good butler would also become a friend in time. If they didn't start out as one, as is the case we're discussing for comparison.

[ At least she's back in a good enough headspace to tell mountains from molehills. ]

He was. To me, I mean.

Honestly, I don't mind the idea of living off delivery, either.

Y'know. [A moment's pause.] No pressure, but if you ever wanted to move in here, you could.

[ichoosefight]

[ How, in the entire multiverse, did that manage to catch her off-guard? After a moment's pause, she smiles wryly. ]

It wouldn't really change much, would it?

[ She's over here more often than she's in her own apartment. ]

Well, uh. [Morgan actually blushes -- faintly, but since his skin is so fair, it really shows.] It's not... gonna make me any less of an irrepressible horndog, y'know. That could be considered a disadvantage.

[ Her smile widens, though she turns a little pink as well. ]

I'm sure I'll manage somehow.

[Honestly, he IS a little embarrassed, by this of all things! He hadn't been so bad in the past, and then he'd been led down the path of carnal corruption. Color him very glad indeed that Steph doesn't seem to mind...]

Even if we don't get out of the house at all some days?

[ Steph ducks her head and turns even pinker. Feeling down or not, that's a rather enticing proposal. She's been walking that path a long time. Besides, as long as he's embarrassed, she doesn't have to be! ]

It is a nice house.

[And Morgan just smirks, blush aside.] You haven't seen every square inch of it. Yet.

I'm not sure I could manage that if I had a whole year.

[ It's going to be weird living someplace more than 1500 square feet. ]

You would be surprised how thorough I can be in showing it off, given the proper motivation.

[But look on the bright side, the main floor is a dojo. Training without having to go anywhere!]

I think I can pass on rooms with nothing but couches and guest rooms.

You say that, but thoroughness is an accomplishment all its own. [Morgan drops his chin onto a palm, propping himself up with his arm as he regards Steph with a fond smile that veers slightly towards the dopey side.]

[ She smiles fondly back, that embarassed energy gone again. ]

You say that, but I'm still not interested.

If history is any guide, we'll get so caught up that one or both of us won't even remember we had plans and preferences to begin with. I know you have that effect on me for sure.

[And that SURE isn't a complaint.]

Oh, yes, for sure. I'm very forgetful.

[ Her voice is entirely too innocent. At least she has a surefire way to end the tour if he bores her. ]

I prefer to say that we have a pretty good ability to... draw each others' focus completely, as it were.

[It doesn't go just one way, after all.]

[ Her smile turns lopsided as she starts scraping ice cream from the bottom of the tub. ]

At least until my stomach starts to hurt.

You're the one with healing, I dunno what to tell you there. [And boy does he miss his own ability, sometimes.]

[ She shrugs. ]

I have to be able to focus. I can't use it much on myself.

[ She never has bruises anymore, though! ]

And we'd like to avoid ordinary reasons why you'd need to do that. [They won't and don't, of course, but he's pretty sure they can both agree they don't like her being hurt.]

No, we want to avoid the weird reasons. I do gymnastics, I get bruised.

[ 'Want', yes. ]

I mean... isn't the goal to eventually get good enough that you don't get bruised?

[And then you do more challenging things, which get you bruised, and the cycle continues, but it's the principle of the thing.]

I think the goal is mostly 'not getting killed'.
