Feb. 15th, 2004 03:07 pmDris, one of the tenders at the Moon, had a birthday last night. Valentine's Day -- heck of a day for a birthday. I met his daughter -- well, I'd already been introduced to Arienh, but I actually spoke with her last night. She's a sorceress, or a mage, I'm not sure which, and she has a raven familiar which I really want to meet. She's a bit weird, but she's cool.
Rose all but dragged me off to make me drive her places not long after I got there. It turns out that they needed birthday presents for Dris. Worse, Seamus had gotten her something and she hadn't gotten him anything, so she wouldn't take his present, and it was rough, so she wanted me to help her get something... I swear, it's like I'm the one Rose comes to for all the stuff a good boyfriend would have to do, and I get none of the benefits! Heavens help me if she ever starts carrying a purse around regularly.
For that matter, later on I got roped into helping her again, this time with transporting twenty boxes of candy to the Moon. Arienh came along for the ride, which was to Pittsburgh and back -- the Infinity didn't have the trunk space, so I had to get the Porsche. I have to give Rose credit -- she makes really good chocolate. Good enough that Cat wanted to get her father to finance a business. Hell, even I want in on that.
And I have to say, Seamus and Rose are terrible cute together. Sure they may fight a lot, but they're -- not Irish, they say, but if not, some alternate-reality version of Irish, and heaven knows I know how tempermental and stubborn the Irish are (being half myself). But last night they were sorta dancing together, snuggled up... it was so cute.
Speaking of cute couples, I think Stephen won Cat's heart for all eternity last night. The boxes of chocolate were for her -- so when she walked in, she was confronted by tons of sweets, with Stephen right in the center. He even gave her a gorgeous promise ring, to show that he'd be there for her always if she wanted him.
Needless to say, I sent word to my agents to start buying Stephen's empire.
To my amazement, I have a date this Monday with Cadence. Not that I understand the girl, but things fell into place such that I think she's interested in me to some degree. We agreed to dinner. I hope this goes well.
I'm so tired. I'm going to try meditating again.
