Young Tycoon Arrives, Is Blasted by Senators
LOS ANGELES -- Morgan Knight, teenage billionaire and president of Knight Corporation, the parent company of the corporation responsible for the machine disaster which resulted in twenty-three deaths last Wednesday, arrived in Los Angeles today to a cold reception by area politicians.
"We can only hope that Mr. Knight will find some modicum of compassion for the innocent victims of his company's irresponsibility," State Senator Marianne Vorsace (R) said in a press conference held at City Hall. "The community which has relied so long on Knight Textiles and has been let down so tragically insists on justice."
Knight landed at Los Angeles International Airport at three p.m. and immediately traveled to the sight of the mill explosion. When asked for comment, Knight stated that Knight Corporation would issue a press statement the next day. City Councilman Dan Fortrit (D) immediately decried Knight's statement as "callous.
"Obviously this kid can't control his company," Councilman Fortrit said, unknowingly echoing similar allegations earlier made by Senator Vorsace. "We all knew his father was eccentric, but the man committed a serious lapse of judgment when he allowed his son to inherit at seventeen. We don't even know where this kid went to school, or even where he was all these years. We can only expect more tragedies of this sort to occur!"
Knight took the reigns of Knight corporation in March of last year, after reappearing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from seemingly nowhere. The FBI had previously believed Knight to have been lost along with his parents, Andrew and Maureen Knight, and his sister Andrea Knight, who mysteriously disappeared somewhere between 2006 and 2007. According to the terms of his father's will, Morgan recieved Andrew Knight's controlling interest in Knight Corporation and all subisidiaries. Since then -- SEE KNIGHT PAGE A22
