That's all completely normal compared to the nexus. Imagine here, but ten or twenty times crazier. A couple of different versions of yourself wandering around. Spaceships flying overhead. Wizards. Stuff literally out of fiction.

I really cannot imagine it.
But is it not strange if your world has a nexus that others from it are not here?

Not really. For one, this place is probably sealed off and only specific people are brought here. Even if that's not the case, finding the one random portal or transport that leads here is pretty unlikely anyway. It'd be like finding a door in a city with only the knowledge that one specific door in the city was the one you wanted, and nothing else to go on.

Do you believe there is a pattern to those of us brought to this world?

I haven't met anyone weak-willed here.

[Willpower is far greater a virtue than most people might think. There isn't a Mage alive who's not incredibly stubborn, for example.]

So everyone here has a strong will?

[morganknight]

In my experience. Seen anyone that doesn't apply to?

I don't know that many people here yet.
Someone had told me that Vaeros, before he passed, had asked Dreamers to sacrifice their powers to him.
So I am unsure of the kind of "will" that most have here.

[ She wasn't there. So she can't speak of whether it was for the better, or the worse. ]

He did. Thing is, he hadn't been trustworthy up till that point, so people obviously weren't going to just do it and hope it somehow worked out for the best. I think there's something to be said for a commitment to finding a way, rather than going with a bad choice out of fear and a desire for security.

Was there anyone who did sacrifice their powers?

[morganknight]

Yes, there was some debate about it. And don't get me wrong, I think there was a logical argument to be made for doing so, and I never got the impression that anyone in favor of it was acting out of fear or panic, but instead had given it some serious thought.

[girlybruiser]

If people lost their powers upon arriving in this land, then it makes sense they would not be willing to lose them again so soon after regaining them.

[morganknight]

Yeah, but also, you didn't see it. It was apocalyptic, and I don't use that work lightly. Earth splitting and volcanos erupting and all the stuff you'd expect to see in a B-movie about the end of the world. I don't blame anyone for wanting to take the risk to put a stop to it.

[ She's seem something apocalyptic before, but there was blood raining from the sky, strange skeletal monuments erupting from the earth, and an ominously dark red sky.

She really hopes not to experience any more of that any time soon... ]

The powers that might be controlling this land seem not to be trifled with easily then.
