Trying to get me to talk about myself and not you, huh? :D
I was born on Earth, so I don't need to tell you about that. Where I live now and consider home is a nexus realm -- a place where infinite times and spaces and realities converge. Kind of like here, really, except a lot more settled about it. Weirdass mishmash of magic and technology and history, it's really great if really insane. My family at present consists of an adoptive mother, an adoptive sister and her ever-growing family, and technically my twin sister but we're pretty estranged, honestly.
I've liked hearing about you, so it can't be too much.
I don't remember if I mentioned, but my dad was a werewolf, and my mom was werewolf Kin. In that case, the pair's kids have a chance of being werewolves too, and my sister is the one who beat the odds.
You proooobably come from a different Earth than I do, but on the one I know, all those things are real. Werewolves and vampires and changelings and mages, of course... ghosts and spirits, weredragons are a thing, all of them hidden very carefully in the shadows so humanity doesn't rise up and extinguish them with napalm or nuclear fire.
Honestly, it might be true on yours too, and you just haven't ever crossed paths with them. Every supernatural force is absolutely committed to secrecy, to the point that they often end up covering for even their worst enemies just to protect themselves.
So you're a werewolf? Those only exist in legends and movies in my world. I do not think we have anything supernatural. Or perhaps not in Japan? I'm not sure...
No no, I'm just werewolf Kin. Think of it like a recessive carrier for werewolfism. That really oversimplifies it, but I think it works for the surface view.
[ Too sheltered, too busy making eyes at someone else. ]
That's... fascinating. I really haven't thought about such things. I've met Webby-chan who is a duck, and Strohl has some kind of horns on his head, but I never imagined actual werewolves and the like. No wonder you seem to take much in stride in this world.
That's all completely normal compared to the nexus. Imagine here, but ten or twenty times crazier. A couple of different versions of yourself wandering around. Spaceships flying overhead. Wizards. Stuff literally out of fiction.
Not really. For one, this place is probably sealed off and only specific people are brought here. Even if that's not the case, finding the one random portal or transport that leads here is pretty unlikely anyway. It'd be like finding a door in a city with only the knowledge that one specific door in the city was the one you wanted, and nothing else to go on.
I don't know that many people here yet. Someone had told me that Vaeros, before he passed, had asked Dreamers to sacrifice their powers to him. So I am unsure of the kind of "will" that most have here.
[ She wasn't there. So she can't speak of whether it was for the better, or the worse. ]
He did. Thing is, he hadn't been trustworthy up till that point, so people obviously weren't going to just do it and hope it somehow worked out for the best. I think there's something to be said for a commitment to finding a way, rather than going with a bad choice out of fear and a desire for security.
Yes, there was some debate about it. And don't get me wrong, I think there was a logical argument to be made for doing so, and I never got the impression that anyone in favor of it was acting out of fear or panic, but instead had given it some serious thought.

If anything, I feel I am talking too much about myself.

You're a twin?

...I mean, if that does it for you, I could fake it with magic...

[ Are werewolves like cats?? ]

Wolves don't... traditionally have hairballs. And yeah, I couldn't be a Mage if I were a werewolf, and I very much like being one.

But is it not strange if your world has a nexus that others from it are not here?

[Willpower is far greater a virtue than most people might think. There isn't a Mage alive who's not incredibly stubborn, for example.]
