Sep. 28th, 2004 08:09 pmThe note, though fake, seems to have done its job quite well, as I now seem pretty isolated indeed from Seamus and Katie. Seamus resents the fact that I believed the note, and I can't actually talk to him about it because it gets him worked up, and in his current state that's not good. Katie's been particularly busy -- or pounced, that one night -- so I haven't had a chance to talk to her either. Worse yet, when they finally decided they were ready to trust Liam to someone else for a night of babysitting, who did they pick? Not me -- not the uncle, the family member -- but Angelin. After all the times I offered and even going through diaper-changing tests to prove that I wanted to and could do a good job, I wasn't even considered. People have been trying to reassure me on this, but it doesn't change facts. But I'm probably just being stupid to think they'd want me around Liam more than I have to be, let alone trust me to take care of him for any extended period of time. I'm just a stupid kid, after all.
Did they just assume I wouldn't want to? Or couldn't? Or did they just not even consider me as a viable choice? I'm not sure which is worse.
I've been getting to know Kymerith better, and that's almost a good thing. She has a great deal of natural wisdom and common sense, and consequently is very easy to talk to, and actually helpful in dealing with certain problems. The downside to this is that Ronnie has decided she's a threat to me and Sashra, somehow, and has threatened her and menaced her to the point where she was barely even speaking to me any more. I don't know what to do about this.
Speaking of Sashra and I... at least something is going right. I do have to say that I'm very glad she and I are *friends* and have been for some time. She still fits into my social life, rather than being a separate and discrete being, like some girls in my past have been.
