Good, But Not Enough

The quick action of Knight Corporation in assuming financial liability was a fine example of corporate responsibility that so often seems lacking in today's world -- and in fact, Knight Corporation has always strived to set itself apart from the other companies in the modern business landscape. But why, then, is Knight Corporation responsible for such a disaster in the first place?

A simple double-check into the business of CFO Lane would have revealed his tricks long ago, before such a disaster had occurred. While we feel that blaming Morgan Knight for the corporation's failings is specious -- he is but one man at the head of a multibillion dollar organization -- we do feel it is his responsibility to ensure this never happens again, inasmuch as it is in his power to do so. Money, though important, cannot replace lives lost, families torn apart, damages done.

We respect Mr. Knight and his company for their show of responsibility, and the respect they have showed throughout this ordeal towards our public officials and servants -- despite the occasional lack of reciprocation from the chambers of public lawmaking. But the truest test of how genuine that responsibility and respect is will come when Knight Corporation takes action to ensure such a tragedy never happens again.
